Double Trouble State Park

Double Trouble State Park
Sweetwater Trail

Distance: Roughly 3 miles
Elevation: Roughly no gain/loss

Maps: http://www.state.nj.us/dep/parksandforests/parks/docs/Double_Trouble_General_Information_and_Maps.pdf
Parking: 39°53'50.61"N, 74°13'19.36"W

It was difficult finding a decent map, so we got the best we could and just kind of went for it! We walked around the old village and followed the trail leading towards the White Bridge which overlooked the gorgeous, slow-moving Cedar Creek where on a summer day kayakers are everywhere! We kept following the trail until we got to the old Cranberry Bogs, which we followed until we looped back to the main parking lot. Best part of these trails: so many people brought their dogs!

Cedar Creek

The trail in between the two old cranberry bogs.

We crossed over another bridge over Cedar Creek and got to get up and close. The color is because of the Cedar in the area, and it was gorgeous!

This little buddy greeted us right before we left, a Northern Fence Lizard! I didn't even know that we had lizards in New Jersey.

Overall it was a really nice hike. It was all flat so not strenuous at all, just a nice walk with nature and some history (and a wonderful amount of dogs thank goodness).
